Hi! My name is Kristaps Kazaks and I work with visuals and motion across multiple disciplines.

I am London based and currently spend most of my time as a motion graphics designer at Zealot UK,
where I won a Golden Trailer Award for Best Foreign Graphics in a Trailer for Loving Vincent (2017).

Before that I was freelance – working directly with international clients on a variety of projects, usually being responsible for bringing the idea to life from concept to the final render, as well as working for post-production and production companies on larger scale projects as vfx and motion graphics artist and colourist.

I have done VFX work for feature films The Passing/Yr Ymadawiad (2015) and Under Milk Wood (2015) and Seasons 2 and 3 of BBC/S4C mini-series Hinterland (2013). I was responsible for visual effects and motion graphics from production to post-production on S4C series Byw Celwydd (2016) and did motion graphics for seasons 6, 7 and 8 of Gwaith/Cartref (2016).

From time to time I like to engage in personal projects, several of which have been recognised at international film festivals and competitions. The most notable ones include Directionless (2013) finalist nomination for Sundance Shorts 2013 and IMDb New Filmmaker Award 2013, Orpheus (2011) win of Best Cinematography at Newport International Film Festival 2012. Quite recently I co-directed, shot and edited an independently produced horror comedy webseries – The Corpse Series (2016) – that is currently touring festivals worldwide.

In the summer of 2016 I took a fun idea me and some old high-school friends had and launched a t-shirt design brand Thread & Verse as a little pet project.

From late 2013 to 2016 I worked for a small production company that I co-founded – State of Flow. We produced lots of corporate videos and online video content where I covered multiple roles including cinematography, colour grading, directing, visual effects and motion graphics.
